
Chef Konrad Jochum formally trained in Black Forest, Germany where he received a degree in Culinary Arts and a minor degree in music. After apprenticing under some of the top Chefs in Europe, his "home" for the 80's was Chicago, Illinois. He spent 11 successful years as Executive chef and General Manager for a high volume, multi-concept group of restaurants in Key West, including Turtle Kraals, Half Shell Raw Bar, Alonzo's Oyster Bar and A&B Lobster House!
Konrad has received many awards and an amazing amount of national recognition …the Zagat Guide "Top Restaurant" award and the Fodor's "Top Seafood Restaurant" award. In 2000, Konrad received the James Beard Foundation Award, and he has also been recognized by Bon Appetit, South Florida Magazine, the Chicago Tribune and the Miami Herald. Konrad now spends most of his time cultivating his current passion on Summerland Key... Fishcutters, a waterfront restaurant and seafood house, which he owns and operates, with his partner, John. Fishcutters is colorful and HIGHLY popular – the waterfront cafe is packed with fans and friends for lunch and dinner.
Konrad is also the culinary director of the Boatyard… a stunning waterfront restaurant and bar in Panama City Beach, Florida.
